Student First Dialogue: School Board Exams: Assessment or Harassment?

The School Choice Campaign hosted a dialogue on “School Board Exams: Assessment or Harassment?” following the recent announcement made by Mr Kapil Sibal to scrap 10th board exams as one of the innovative reforms in the education sector. The brings together two prominent educational experts representing the government and private perspectives- Mrs Gauri Ishwaran, Founder and Principal of Sanskriti School and Dr Janaki Rajan, former Director of SCERT Delhi and Professor of Education Jamia Milia University.

Asia Livelihood Documentary Competition and Festival is a search for documentaries that bring to light policies, socio – cultural norms and religious practices that prevent or constrain people from earning an honest livelihood in the vocation of their choice. It aims at capturing the livelihood challenges faced by the rural and urban poor and bringing it to the attention of current and future policy makers. This year, screening committee has shortlisted 12 documentaries on livelihood challenges in Asia.

Book Launch: Ward Power: Decentralised Urban Governance

Centre for Civil Society introduces a new publication, Ward Power: Decentralised Urban Governance. The book is being released with the company of Dr. P.L. Sanjeev Reddy, Director, IIPA, and Mr. T.S.R. Subramanian, former Cabinet Secretary of India. The book is edited by Dr. Parth J Shah, President of Centre for Civil Society, and Makarand Bakore, a Research Associate at the Centre.
