The School Choice Campaign (SCC) hosts a panel discussion on social auditing as an important tool to ensure transparency in the functioning of the government and for improved delivery of public services. The objective of this discussion is to create a robust system of social accountability by making citizens aware of their entitlements and rights under the RTE Act and empowering them to demand the same.

Student First Dialogue: Does one size fit all?

The School Choice Campaign (SCC) organized an open forum discussion on National Curriculum: Does one size fit all?, to discuss the national core curriculum for Science and Mathematics in classes XI and XII approved by the MHRD Minister. The objective is to question whether independent states ought to be given the freedom to develop curricula in tune with local circumstances and requirements.

Jeevika: Asia Livelihood Documentary Festival - 2010

Asia Livelihood Documentary Competition and Festival is a search for documentaries that bring to light policies, socio – cultural norms and religious practices that prevent or constrain people from earning an honest livelihood in the vocation of their choice. It aims at capturing the livelihood challenges faced by the rural and urban poor and bringing it to the attention of current and future policy makers. This year celebrates 21 selected documentaries from professional and student filmmakers.

Policy Roundtable for Members of Parliament: Parliamentary Transparency

Centre for Civil Society organises Policy Roundtables for Members of Parliament with an objective to bridge the divide between policy research and policy making. By bringing together MPs and knowledge experts, these roundtables engages legislators on issues of national importance and serves as a platform for policy discussion. This dialogue discusses the people’s access to information about what happens in Parliament and whether there is enough, and the right kind of information, being trickled down to civil society stakeholders.
