School body expresses concern over CBSE circular

A body of independent schools has expressed its opposition to a recent circular which lays down that the selection committee for school heads should have representatives of the CBSE as well as state governments.
In a statement, the National Independent Schools Alliance (NISA) expressed its "anguish" and opposed the circular issued by CBSE.
"It is a grossly incorrect decision which questions and jeopardises the autonomy of private, unaided schools. The CBSE's core expertise is to conduct board exams and should not interfere with the regulatory and other functions of the schools," the statement said.
