Swati Chawla is a graduate of CCS's Liberty, Arts and Culture Seminar, and has been associated with the Centre's programs for over a decade as a faculty member, research guide, course developer, and mentor for recent graduates. In 2007, she co-founded the Liberal Youth Forum (LYF) with other CCS graduates, and led its advocacy initiatives until 2012. LYF is a registered trust working to promote choice and access in campuses across India. She also worked as a faculty member and mentor for youth programs with the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library, Dhriiti, and the British Council. She taught English at the University of Delhi from 2009-14, and is currently a PhD candidate in South Asian History at the University of Virginia. Her research is focused on Tibetan exile in India, and she is broadly interested in issues of migration and forced dislocation.
