Hindol Sengupta specialises in writing on public policy and the political economy, entrepreneurship and the business of luxury. He has written extensively about the economic histories of India’s Congress Party and the Bharatiya Janata Party, and infrastructure, energy and environment policies in India. He has extensive experience in in-depth reporting from Pakistan and other neighbouring countries. Hindol has also authored seven books, the latest of them, 'Being Hindu: Old Faith, New World and You'. In 2015, his seminal book on India's underbelly of entrepreneurship, 'Recasting India', was shortlisted for the Hayek Book prize, given by the Manhattan Institute. He became the youngest writer, at 34, to be nominated for the Hayek prize and the first ever from India.
