Information on schooling sector just one click away as RTE goes online

Now all information on the schooling sector and Right to Education (RTE) is only a mouse click away. Centre for civil society and Central Square Foundation in partnership with FICCI has instituted the first dedicated Right to Education Portal. Righttoeducation.in aims to aim to provide a free and open platform for stakeholders to interact, discuss, share experiences, and dispel myths regarding the RTE Act.

"Information regarding all aspects of schooling and important judgments of the RTE must be readily available to all. This is a significant step to promote transparency and the development of our education system," says Naveen Jindal, chairman of Jindal Steel & Power and members of parliament. Member of Parliament Naveen Jindal along with Prakash Javadekar inaugurated the portal on Thursday at Federation House in Delhi. The launch also saw the participation and support of principals and teachers from schools in the NCR and representatives of various education foundations.

The RTE portal will act as an all-inclusive port of call on RTE-related information and updates from across the country. The portal will also host information about the status of implementation of RTE Act in different states, enable you to browse all Supreme Court and High Court judgments on RTE, allow anxious parents to ask a question and get their queries redressed by in-house RTE experts, and draw on reports and case studies on RTE related interventions across the country, to encourage the sharing of best practices.

"The website has been developed to ensure that users will be able to find useful information with minimal effort. It will be regularly updated with the latest developments regarding the RTE. This will help users track the progress of RTE as well as debate on various implementation and policy problems," says Ashish Dhawan, CEO and founder of Central Square Foundation.
